Sapphire: Benjamin?

Sapphire heard what he had said, however she had no idea how to take what he said. Molting was normal, but why did his seem to different. She reached out to touch him but..

Bam: NO!!! < scurries away> Don’t.. I’m burning up right now!!

Sapphire felt great heat as her hand neared him. Then pulled her hand away and looked around. It all made sense now. Why steam, the showers, what he said... the molting was raising his body temperature somehow.

Sapphire: Bam.... <not sure what to do> are you.. Does it hurt?

Bam: < slams his fists into the ground cracking it> I’ve been feeling it coming on for a long while <shakes violently> I’ve... fought it so long.

Sapphire: <gasps and puts her hands over her mouth> Those were your growing pains?!!?

Bam: <winces> Kinda... they kinda went with it, but when I felt it coming on..I’d fight it till the feeling died down. < grinds his teeth> I can’t anymore!! < whimpers like he’s crying>

Sapphire: <kneels down> Benjamin.. Why have you been fighting it?

Bam: < breathing hard> Because... last time it happened.... I changed completely. <winces> I don’t want to do that again. <looks up at her weakly> Not after you liking me this way.

Sapphire clasped her hands together and held them against her chest. Poor Bam had no idea he wouldn’t change form again. She sighed, poor Bam never grew up around other insects like himself so how would he know?

Bam: I... I heard.. Mom and Viento talking.... They keep talking like...like.. < writhes in pain> like I’m gonna become something horrible!! I...I...

Sapphire looks down at him, then at her left hand. She takes her glove off and touches him. Her hand catches flame for a second, then goes out. Bam looks up at her.

Sapphire: It’s okay Benjamin, just let it happen.

Bam: But...

Sapphire: < smiles> It’s okay.

Bam: Will....< winces> will you stay with me?

Sapphire nods stroking his back, and with that Bam exhales deeply and closes his eyes. Then slowly his entire body turns pale white, and his eyes seemingly sink back into his head. Sapphire puts her right hand to her mouth, a bit worried but then Bam’s back splits open as light and heat burst forth. Sapphire steps back and shields her eyes as Bam’s body pops open and something or rather someone bursts forth. Sapphire watches in shock as we see a new pair of wings uncurl and expand. They flutter, pumping blood into them as we see a dark figure stand up.

Sapphire: Oh....my... <Sapphire’s eyes roll back and she faints. She is awoken by someone> Huh, what happened?

Bam: You okay Bitsyfly?

Sapphire: <holds her head> Ug Benjamin.. I.. <looks up and then shrieks and scurries away> Aaaaaaa!!

Bam: What!?!?

Scene changes, we hear the showers going again. Sapphire has her back to them with a VERY red face. In the steam, we see a figure that reassembles Bam. After a while the water turns off as Sapphire looks up, snapping out of her trance.

Sapphire: Uh.. You okay Benjamin?

Bam: <voice only> Yeah.. You?

Sapphire: < looking down> I’m..I’m fine... just um..<hands to her chest> You gave me such a start.

Bam: <voice only> Do I really look that bad?

Sapphire looked down, she recalled what she saw. Her Bam was not the same now, he was different looking.

Bam: <voice only> Oh, thanks for collecting my clothes Bitsyfly.

Sapphire mind raced again, one things kept popping into her mind. Sapphire’s pulse quickened as she recalled what she saw.

Bam: Uh...Sapphire.... my clothes seem to have shrunk a bit. <Bam steps out and is wearing his pants, however they fit him very tightly> I think I grew.

Sapphire: <red faced says softly to herself> He’s gorgeous.

So a short time later.....

Sapphire: <walks in> Uh.. Everyone.....<all the guests turn and look> we have a bit of a problem.

Bam: < walks in, in just his short and tight pants> Uh.... hey everyone.

Monguse: <drops his drink> HOLY......

Gea: <jaw drops> WHOA!!

Mari Posa: MIJO!!! <hands clasped>

Onyx: Cool!!

Tres: < happy> Yay daddy looks like himself again!!

Sapphire/Bam: <look down at her> He/I does/do!?!?

Brittney: <looks him up and down> Great now you’re even taller. <shakes her head and sighs> Can’t have you running around your party looking like that. < grabs her cell phone and calls someone> Yes.. I need you here for a fitting and new wardrobe chop chop!! No not for me, for someone else. <hangs up> They’ll be here soon.

Bam: < puzzled> Um..who’ll be here soon. < then the doors fling open and a group of tailors, fitters, and designers run in> What the?

Brittney: < points at Bam> That’s him.. <smiles> make him look cool.

Bam: Huh? <sees them coming at him> Whoa hey.. Take it easy!! <they swarm him and his pants go flying into the air> HEY!! Wait!! < after a matter of minutes they move away from him> Geez what’s you’re problem?!?! Huh? <looks down and sees he is wearing a silk shirt and a new pair of slacks. And looking very sharp at that> WOW!!

Brittney: < nodding with her arms crossed > Think of it as my birthday present to you.

Bam: < smiles> Thanks Brittney, I owe you one.

Brittney: < smug> You owe me four, but who’s counting.

Rey: <hugs her> You’re so sweet.

Brittney: <nods> I know I know.

Tres: <crawling up Sapphire> Hey mummy.. Give him out gift?

Sapphire: Huh?

Onyx: < hands Sapphire a box> Our present mummy.

Sapphire: Uh right. <takes the gift and blushes> Uh.. The children and I got this for you..it’s not much but...

Bam: <opens the box and looks inside and pulls out a gray and black tie> Wow!! This is awesome!!

Sapphire: < twisting her hair in her fingers> You..you like it?

Bam: I love it!! < puts it on> Thank you very much. <kisses Sapphire> All of you. < kisses Tres on the forehead and Onyx too>

Ruby: <runs in with a big box> Hey guys I finally finished and... <looks at Bam and stops in her tracks> Whoa! What happened to you!?!?

Bam: Uh.. <rubbing the back of his neck> growth spurt... HUGE one.

Ruby: <blinks> Cool!! Anyway I got your gift right here!! <holds out box>

Bam: <takes it> Awwww thanks Ruby Tuesday, you didn’t have to.

Ruby: Yeah I did!! < shrinks back a bit> You always take care of me, always there to listen to me when I need to talk to someone.... and you protect me. <smiles big> You’re like my big brother.

Bam: < quiet for a bit, then smiles> Thanks Ruby.

Ruby: <nods> You’re welcome... NOW OPEN IT!!

Bam opens the box and his eyes grow huge. He pulls out of it a smoke gray and black jacket with a fur collar. Bam looks at it for a long time then looks back at Ruby.

Bam: <almost in tears> This is awesome. You..you made this?

Ruby: Yeah for like the past week and a half. <slumps her shoulders> It took a lot of work, but it was worth it. I was worried it was gonna be big, but well I guess that’s not the case. PUT IT ON!!

Bam does so and sees it fits great. Sapphire looks at him and turns bright red again. Ruby smiles as she clasps her hands together in glee.

Monguse: Now that’s wicked!!

Gea: Cool!!

Ruby: I gave it a fur collar because all badasses in anime and manga have it on their jackets.

Bam: <smiles and hugs her> Thanks Ruby.

Ruby: Bam..<winces> You’re cushing me!!

Bam: <lets go of her> Oh geez.... I’m sorry!! < leans on a chair and it breaks under him> GAAAAAAHHH!! What the heck!?!?

Monguse: <tries to help him up> Here.. HEY!! < Bam instead pulls him down> OWW!!

Bam: Uh.. I seem to be having a “strength dealing” problem.

Mari Posa: I got you mijo. <walks in and picks him up by his head by one hand and lifts him to his feet> There you go.

Bam: Uh... thanks mom.
